AI consulting and AI Shadowing

Before building anything, we spend a few weeks with the people who do the work. We measure where the hours go, collect every automation idea and rank them by impact, confidence and ease. You get a shortlist with effort and expected savings, and the first use case is ready to pilot.

Example: use cases ranked after AI Shadowing
Impact Effort

Bubble size: confidence

Format
Interviews, shadowing sessions, process maps, data checks
Duration
Typically 2–4 weeks
Scoring
ICE: impact, confidence, ease
Output
Ranked use cases, effort, expected savings, pilot plan
Next step
A 4–8 week pilot of the top use case

When to start here

  • You know AI could help, but not where. Every department has a different idea, and nobody has the numbers to compare them.
  • A vendor pitched you a platform. You want an independent view of which of your processes it would actually change.
  • You have budget for one project. And you want to spend it on the use case with the best return, not the one with the loudest sponsor.

Skip this step if you already know which process to automate and have the data for it: go straight to a pilot.

What happens in those weeks

Each step leaves you with something you keep, even if you never build with us.

  1. 1 Week 1 Interviews with team leads, a list of recurring tasks, a first look at the systems and data involved
  2. 2 Week 2 Shadowing sessions: we sit with the people doing the work and time the steps
  3. 3 Week 3 Use cases scored for impact, confidence and ease; data and integration checks on the top ones
  4. 4 Week 4 Costed shortlist, a pilot plan with success criteria, risks and AI Act notes

Shorter for a single department, longer for several.

What you get

  • Process maps

How the work actually flows today, including the workarounds nobody wrote down.

  • Use-case register

Every idea in one table with owner, frequency, time spent and the systems it touches.

  • ICE ranking

Impact, confidence and ease scores with the reasoning written down, so you can disagree with specifics.

  • Data and integration check

Whether the data exists, where it lives and how to reach it, for the top candidates.

  • Pilot plan

Scope, success metrics, timeline and cost for the first build.

  • AI Act and GDPR notes

Risk class and data-protection considerations for each use case.

Questions

Is AI Shadowing just a discovery phase with a new name?

It is a discovery phase with a fixed output: scored use cases, measured time and a costed pilot. The scoring is written down, so you can check our reasoning instead of having to trust it.

Do we have to build with you afterwards?

No. The shortlist and the pilot plan are yours, and any competent team can execute them.

How much of our people’s time does it take?

Typically a one-hour interview per team lead and a few shadowing sessions per process. We work around your schedule.
